Blocker, who got his start in 1957 playing a goon in a "Three Stooges" short, was only 43 when he passed. He got his big break when he landed the role of Hoss in 1959 on "Bonanza." The series lasted until 1972, the year Blocker died of a pulmonary embolism following gall bladder surgery.
