WebJul 8, 2015 · There's a few interesting things about the knock: 1) It only makes the noise at idle. 2) It only makes the noise when the engine is warm. 3) It's an intermittent noise that comes and goes. I took a video of the engine running and for the first 30 seconds or so of the video, the noise is constant and then after that it becomes intermittent. Webyou can probably take off the fork off the bike and compress it through its travel or put in a vise to and start twisting/pulling on the lower leg to see if you feel any play or hear any noise if you really want to make sure it's not coming from your fork. it can also be your front brake hose just lightly tapping on something during compression. terminal sygWebOct 23, 2024 · I had this same problem with my old 36. Drop the lowers, remove the air shaft clean it, and reapply a thin layer of slick honey (or other suspension grease) and reassemble (pro tip: pump up air chamber to 60psi before sliding on the lowers).
