WebGRASSINGTON (population 988), in Upper Wharfedale, may be-approached by rail from Skipton to Threshfield (1.5 miles distant). A good motor bus service runs from Skipton to Grassington. It is picturesquely situated on the hillside overlooking the Wharfe. The old Roman roads, the barrows, flint arrow heads, and the like, indicate great antiquity.
