WebStarting from Sam Lewis' pack station on Haiwee Creek at 7:00 am Sat., May 5, (1956) we followed a fine trail up over the Sierra Crest at Haiwee Pass at 8,500 ft., gaining 5,000 ft. in five miles. Dropping 1,500 ft. in two more miles, we reached the South Fork of the Kern River at 1:00 pm. WebThe trail runs northeast from Kennedy Meadows to the South Fork Kern River and Haiwee Pass Trail. The journey from Kennedy Meadows to the end of the Wildrose Trail (37E01) is an 18.4 mile out-and-back trek. It features Wildrose Meadow, seasonal wildflowers, and the South Fork Kern River.
