WebDec 31, 2014 · Replace the riding mower carburetor assembly. The carburetor mixes gas with air before the fuel goes into the cylinder. If the gas/air mix isn't balanced, the engine won't start or the engine will run rough and stall when you try to drive the riding mower. A damaged carburetor may also leak gas. WebJun 6, 2024 · Starter will not turn the engine more than one revolution. I have to release the key and engage the starter to get it past compression stroke, then again, only turns one revolution. I adjusted the valves, pulled the head and removed the carbon. reinstalled head same problem exists. Installed brand new starter, still same problem.
